Yeeeeeeaaaoooooooooo!
So my latest goal-hope-dream is to start making quilts for people who need them, and like LOVE KNITS survives off of donated yarn, I’d love this project to work with nothing but TIME spent to make it happen. I was inspired through a book, where a community of people made quilts for those with greater needs in their own area. So here I am asking you to raid your closets yet again, for hidden unwanted treasures! Consider this a jump-start on your spring cleaning/purging : ) My skills in quilt-making are about equal to my knitting skills, basic but enough to be useful. There’s a kind of quilt called a “rag” quilt that I learned to make about 4 years ago, and though it’s essentially quilt making for dummies they can turn out beautifully!
I’m asking you to check your closets for unwanted flannel sheets, WITHOUT STAINS! I’ll save you details, but seriously. I hope that didn’t need to be said, but I figured I best cover all my bases : ) There’s no such thing as too much Disney, floral, plaid, GI Joe…whatever, I’ll take whatever you’ve got. Someone with an eye for design will make it work somehow. For any of you sewers I will also take old or unwanted flannelette you’ve got folded nicely kicking around in your sewing stash. I’ll take straight up new stuff too, but I’d never pressure anyone to buy new stuff. However, Fabricland often has sick deals…
Thanks in advance! You know where I live or how to get a hold of me, so feel free to drop stuff off on my front porch or holler at me to come pick stuff up!
